Genesis 32:2

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, July 31, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And when he saw them, he said: These are the camps of God, and he called the name of that place Mahanaim, that is, Camps.

Genesis 32:2

Reflection for Today

Let Genesis 32:2 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And when he saw them, he said: These are the camps of God, and he called the name of that place Mahanaim, that is, Camps.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Genesis 32:2. You said, “And when he saw them, he said: These are the camps of God, and he called the name of…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
