Theme: Daily Scripture
“And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Go, get thee down: thy people, which thou hast brought out of the land of Egypt, hath sinned.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Exodus 32:7: “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Go, get thee down: thy people, which thou hast brought out of the land of Egypt, hath sinned.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Exodus 32:7 remain. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Exodus 32:7 close to me. Let “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Go, get thee down: thy people, which thou hast…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
