The Church sets before us Isaiah 31:5: “As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts protect Jerusalem, protecting and delivering, passing over and saving.”
In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Isaiah 31:5, let “As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts protect Jerusalem, protecting and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
