The Church sets before us Sirach 31:11: “Therefore are his goods established in the Lord, and all the church of the saints shall declare his alms.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Sirach 31:11. You said, “Therefore are his goods established in the Lord, and all the church of the saints…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
