Catholic Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 30:23

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, July 16, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Peace

Behold the whirlwind of the Lord, his fury going forth, a violent storm, it shall rest upon the head of the wicked.

Jeremiah 30:23

Reflection for Today

Let Jeremiah 30:23 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Behold the whirlwind of the Lord, his fury going forth, a violent storm, it shall rest upon the head of the wicked.”

In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Jeremiah 30:23 I hear, “Behold the whirlwind of the Lord, his fury going forth, a violent storm, it shall…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
