Theme: Family
“For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children that will not hear the law of God.”
Reflection for Today
Let Isaiah 30:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children that will not hear the law of God.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Isaiah 30:9. As I listen to “For it is a people that provoketh to wrath, and lying children that will not hear…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
