Pause with Deuteronomy 27:1. Hear these words again: “And Moses with the ancients of Israel commanded the people, saying: Keep every commandment that I command you this day.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
