Theme: Daily Scripture
“Her daughters also that are in the field, shall be slain by the sword: and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Ezekiel 26:6: “Her daughters also that are in the field, shall be slain by the sword: and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Ezekiel 26:6 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Ezekiel 26:6, let “Her daughters also that are in the field, shall be slain by the sword: and they…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
