Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 26:16

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, May 14, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Lord, they have sought after thee in distress, in the tribulation of murmuring thy instruction was with them.

Isaiah 26:16

Reflection for Today

Pause with Isaiah 26:16. Hear these words again: “Lord, they have sought after thee in distress, in the tribulation of murmuring thy instruction was with them.”

In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Isaiah 26:16. You said, “Lord, they have sought after thee in distress, in the tribulation of murmuring thy…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
