Pause with 2 Kings 24:4. Hear these words again: “And for the innocent blood that he shed, filling Jerusalem with innocent blood: and therefore the Lord would not be appeased.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. 2 Kings is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

Prayer
