Let 1 Chronicles 24:2 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood.”
1 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 1 Chronicles 24:2, let “But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
