Theme: Family
“Behold, Rebecca is before thee, take her and go thy way, and let her be the wife of thy master's son, as the Lord hath spoken.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Genesis 24:51: “Behold, Rebecca is before thee, take her and go thy way, and let her be the wife of thy master's son, as the Lord hath spoken.”
Genesis is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Genesis 24:51 close to me. Let “Behold, Rebecca is before thee, take her and go thy way, and let her be the wife of…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
