Theme: Holy Spirit
“For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.”
Reflection for Today
Let Acts 23:8 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.”
The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
Today's invitation under the theme of Holy Spirit is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Acts 23:8. You said, “For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
