Theme: Family
“But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves and for your children.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Luke 23:28: “But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves and for your children.”
Luke does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
Today's invitation under the theme of Family is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Luke 23:28 close to me. Let “But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
