Today's Catholic verse of the day is Jeremiah 22:5: “But if you will not hearken to these words: I swear by myself, saith the Lord, that this house shall become a desolation.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Jeremiah 22:5 close to me. Let “But if you will not hearken to these words: I swear by myself, saith the Lord, that…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
