The poor shall eat and shall be filled: and they shall praise the Lord that seek him: their hearts shall live for ever and ever.

Psalms 21:27

Reflection for Today

Let Psalms 21:27 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “The poor shall eat and shall be filled: and they shall praise the Lord that seek him: their hearts shall live for ever and ever.”

The Psalms have given voice to every mood of the believer: praise, tears, trust, and longing. What Israel prayed, the Church still sings. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Psalms 21:27 I hear, “The poor shall eat and shall be filled: and they shall praise the Lord that seek…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
