Let Proverbs 21:1 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “As the divisions of waters, so the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever he will, he shall turn it.”
Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Proverbs 21:1, let “As the divisions of waters, so the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord:…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
