Pause with 2 Chronicles 21:16. Hear these words again: “And the Lord stirred up against Joram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, who border on the Ethiopians.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. 2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 2 Chronicles 21:16, let “And the Lord stirred up against Joram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
