Reflection for Today
Pause with 1 Chronicles 21:28. Hear these words again: “And David seeing that the Lord had heard him in the thrashingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, forthwith offered victims there.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. 1 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture.
