Today's Catholic verse of the day is Matthew 19:23: “Then Jesus said to his disciples: Amen, I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Matthew 19:23 remain. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Matthew 19:23, let “Then Jesus said to his disciples: Amen, I say to you, that a rich man shall hardly…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
