Theme: Hope & Renewal
“But she seeing herself weakened, and that her hope was lost, took one of her young lions, and set him up for a lion.”
Reflection for Today
Let Ezekiel 19:5 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “But she seeing herself weakened, and that her hope was lost, took one of her young lions, and set him up for a lion.”
In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Hope does not erase waiting. It changes what waiting means: not empty delay, but trust that God is preparing what we cannot yet see.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Ezekiel 19:5. You said, “But she seeing herself weakened, and that her hope was lost, took one of her young…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
