Theme: Protection
“For they fed on their food like horses, and they skipped like lambs, praising thee, O Lord, who hadst delivered them.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Wisdom 19:9: “For they fed on their food like horses, and they skipped like lambs, praising thee, O Lord, who hadst delivered them.”
Wisdom belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Wisdom 19:9. You said, “For they fed on their food like horses, and they skipped like lambs, praising thee,…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
