Catholic Verse of the Day

Proverbs 19:23

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, December 9, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Peace

The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in the fulness without being visited with evil.

Proverbs 19:23

Reflection for Today

Pause with Proverbs 19:23. Hear these words again: “The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in the fulness without being visited with evil.”

Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God. Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Proverbs 19:23 I hear, “The fear of the Lord is unto life: and he shall abide in the fulness without being…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
