Reflection for Today
Pause with Exodus 19:17. Hear these words again: “And when Moses had brought them forth to meet God, from the place of the camp, they stood at the bottom of the mount.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Exodus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Exodus 19:17 I hear, “And when Moses had brought them forth to meet God, from the place of the camp, they…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
