Catholic Verse of the Day

Ezekiel 18:23

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, November 18, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Forgiveness & Mercy

Is it my will that a sinner should die, saith the Lord God, and not that he should be converted from his ways, and live?

Ezekiel 18:23

Reflection for Today

Pause with Ezekiel 18:23. Hear these words again: “Is it my will that a sinner should die, saith the Lord God, and not that he should be converted from his ways, and live?”

In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Ezekiel 18:23. As I listen to “Is it my will that a sinner should die, saith the Lord God, and not that he should…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
