Catholic Verse of the Day

Matthew 17:9

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, October 24, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead.

Matthew 17:9

Reflection for Today

Pause with Matthew 17:9. Hear these words again: “And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead.”

The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Matthew 17:9, let “And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
