Catholic Verse of the Day

Numbers 17:13

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, October 6, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Whosoever approacheth to the tabernacle of the Lord, he dieth. Are we all to a man to be utterly destroyed?

Numbers 17:13

Reflection for Today

Pause with Numbers 17:13. Hear these words again: “Whosoever approacheth to the tabernacle of the Lord, he dieth. Are we all to a man to be utterly destroyed?”

Numbers is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Numbers 17:13. As I listen to “Whosoever approacheth to the tabernacle of the Lord, he dieth. Are we all to a man…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
