Catholic Verse of the Day

Acts 16:34

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, September 29, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Joy

Joy

And when he had brought them into his own house, he laid the table for them: and rejoiced with all his house, believing God.

Acts 16:34

Reflection for Today

Let Acts 16:34 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And when he had brought them into his own house, he laid the table for them: and rejoiced with all his house, believing God.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Acts 16:34 remain. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Acts 16:34 close to me. Let “And when he had brought them into his own house, he laid the table for them: and…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
