Wisdom 16:12

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, September 19, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Healing

Healing

For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaster, that healed them, but thy word, O Lord, which healeth all things.

Wisdom 16:12

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Wisdom 16:12: “For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaster, that healed them, but thy word, O Lord, which healeth all things.”

A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Wisdom belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Wisdom 16:12 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Wisdom 16:12. As I listen to “For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaster, that healed them, but thy word, O…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
