Today's Catholic verse of the day is Proverbs 16:32: “The patient man is better than the valiant: and he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh cities.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Proverbs 16:32 I hear, “The patient man is better than the valiant: and he that ruleth his spirit, than he…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
