Theme: Daily Scripture

Forgiveness & Mercy

Begin ye to the Lord with timbrels, sing ye to the Lord with cymbals, tune unto him a new psalm, extol and call upon his name.

Judith 16:2

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Judith 16:2: “Begin ye to the Lord with timbrels, sing ye to the Lord with cymbals, tune unto him a new psalm, extol and call upon his name.”

Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Judith 16:2. As I listen to “Begin ye to the Lord with timbrels, sing ye to the Lord with cymbals, tune unto him…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
