Theme: Work & Service
“But the works of Asa the first and last are written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us 2 Chronicles 16:11: “But the works of Asa the first and last are written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. 2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from 2 Chronicles 16:11. As I listen to “But the works of Asa the first and last are written in the book of the kings of Juda…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
