Catholic Verse of the Day

Esther 16:6

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, September 15, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

While with crafty fraud they deceive the ears of princes that are well meaning, and judge of others by their own nature.

Esther 16:6

Reflection for Today

Pause with Esther 16:6. Hear these words again: “While with crafty fraud they deceive the ears of princes that are well meaning, and judge of others by their own nature.”

Esther, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Esther 16:6 I hear, “While with crafty fraud they deceive the ears of princes that are well meaning, and…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
