Catholic Verse of the Day

Joshua 16:7

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Wednesday, September 6, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.

Joshua 16:7

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Joshua 16:7: “And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.”

Joshua is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Joshua 16:7, let “And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
