Catholic Verse of the Day

Ezekiel 15:8

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, August 21, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And I shall have made their land a wilderness, and desolate, because they have been transgressors, saith the Lord God.

Ezekiel 15:8

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Ezekiel 15:8: “And I shall have made their land a wilderness, and desolate, because they have been transgressors, saith the Lord God.”

In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Ezekiel 15:8. You said, “And I shall have made their land a wilderness, and desolate, because they have been…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
