Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Jeremiah 15:5: “For who shall have pity on thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go to pray for thy peace?”
Prayer is where Scripture stops being information and becomes relationship. Even a short, honest conversation with God can reorder a crowded day. In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Jeremiah 15:5 I hear, “For who shall have pity on thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
