Theme: Daily Scripture
“In the sight of the Lord thy God shalt thou eat them every year, in the place that the Lord shall choose, thou and thy house.”
Reflection for Today
Let Deuteronomy 15:20 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “In the sight of the Lord thy God shalt thou eat them every year, in the place that the Lord shall choose, thou and thy house.”
Deuteronomy is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Deuteronomy 15:20 I hear, “In the sight of the Lord thy God shalt thou eat them every year, in the place that…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
