Let Numbers 15:7 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And he shall offer the third part the same measure of wine for the libation, for a sweet savour to the Lord.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Numbers is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Numbers 15:7 I hear, “And he shall offer the third part the same measure of wine for the libation, for a…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
