Today's Catholic verse of the day is Hosea 14:3: “Take with you words, and return to the Lord, and say to him: Take away all iniquity, and receive the good: and we will render the calves of our lips.”
In Hosea, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Hosea 14:3. As I listen to “Take with you words, and return to the Lord, and say to him: Take away all iniquity,…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
