Theme: Daily Scripture
“And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day there shall be one Lord, and his name shall be one.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Zechariah 14:9. Hear these words again: “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day there shall be one Lord, and his name shall be one.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Zechariah 14:9 remain. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Zechariah 14:9, let “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day there shall be one Lord,…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
