Catholic Verse of the Day

Daniel 14:33

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, July 17, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And the angel of the Lord said to Habacuc: Carry the dinner which thou hast into Babylon, to Daniel, who is in the lions' den.

Daniel 14:33

Reflection for Today

Let Daniel 14:33 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the angel of the Lord said to Habacuc: Carry the dinner which thou hast into Babylon, to Daniel, who is in the lions' den.”

In Daniel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Daniel 14:33. As I listen to “And the angel of the Lord said to Habacuc: Carry the dinner which thou hast into…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
