Catholic Verse of the Day

Isaiah 14:27

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, July 14, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? and his hand is stretched out: and who shall turn it away?

Isaiah 14:27

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Isaiah 14:27: “For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? and his hand is stretched out: and who shall turn it away?”

A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Isaiah 14:27, let “For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? and his hand is…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
