Theme: Family
“We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, the iniquities of our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.”
Reflection for Today
Let Jeremiah 14:20 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, the iniquities of our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.”
In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
Today's invitation under the theme of Family is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Jeremiah 14:20 I hear, “We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, the iniquities of our fathers, because we…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
