Theme: Wisdom
“Blessed is the man that shall continue in wisdom, and that shall meditate in his justice, and in his mind shall think of the all seeing eye of God.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Sirach 14:22: “Blessed is the man that shall continue in wisdom, and that shall meditate in his justice, and in his mind shall think of the all seeing eye of God.”
Wisdom in the Bible is rarely flashy. It looks like restraint, good counsel, and the humility to ask for help before a decision hardens. Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Sirach 14:22 I hear, “Blessed is the man that shall continue in wisdom, and that shall meditate in his…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
