“Amen, amen, I say to you: The servant is not greater than his lord: neither is the apostle greater than he that sent him.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with John 13:16. Hear these words again: “Amen, amen, I say to you: The servant is not greater than his lord: neither is the apostle greater than he that sent him.”
The Church treasures John because the Gospel is the face of Christ in human language, meant to be heard with faith. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through John 13:16. You said, “Amen, amen, I say to you: The servant is not greater than his lord: neither is the…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
