Catholic Verse of the Day

Acts 13:21

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, June 17, 2028, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And after that they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, forty years.

Acts 13:21

Reflection for Today

Let Acts 13:21 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And after that they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, forty years.”

The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for speaking through Acts 13:21. You said, “And after that they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Cis, a man of…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
