Let Proverbs 13:11 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Substance got in haste shall be diminished: but that which by little and little is gathered with the hand, shall increase.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Proverbs 13:11 close to me. Let “Substance got in haste shall be diminished: but that which by little and little is…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
