Theme: Peace
“Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to me.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Job 13:13. Hear these words again: “Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to me.”
Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Job 13:13. As I listen to “Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
