Theme: Prayer

PrayerForgiveness & Mercy

Peter therefore was kept in prison. But prayer was made without ceasing by the church unto God for him.

Acts 12:5

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Acts 12:5: “Peter therefore was kept in prison. But prayer was made without ceasing by the church unto God for him.”

Prayer is where Scripture stops being information and becomes relationship. Even a short, honest conversation with God can reorder a crowded day. The Acts of the Apostles remind us that the Church is not a museum of holy memories. It is a living community moved by the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Acts 12:5, let “Peter therefore was kept in prison. But prayer was made without ceasing by the…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
