Theme: Daily Scripture
“Jesus therefore, six days before the pasch, came to Bethania, where Lazarus had been dead, whom Jesus raised to life.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is John 12:1: “Jesus therefore, six days before the pasch, came to Bethania, where Lazarus had been dead, whom Jesus raised to life.”
The Church treasures John because the Gospel is the face of Christ in human language, meant to be heard with faith. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse convicts you, do not panic. Take it to Confession when you can, or begin with an honest Act of Contrition tonight.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep John 12:1 close to me. Let “Jesus therefore, six days before the pasch, came to Bethania, where Lazarus had been…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
